Winter Illness Advice
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) press release dated 02 January 2023 entitled: Back to school advice issued amid high levels of flu, COVID-19 and scarlet fever has resulted in a number of inquiries to Public Health about current guidance.
There is no change in guidance and the re-issuing of advice is in response to current high levels of seasonal flu and COVID-19. These levels are likely to continue to increase in the coming weeks and we are also seeing high numbers of cases of scarlet fever, which is caused by group A streptococcus.
Below is the ‘Schools leaflet – winter illnesses: info parent, pupils, staff’. It includes details of common winter infections including flu, covid-19 and scarlet fever, advice about when people should not attend school and links to the NHS website for further information.

Mr Churchill update
Good afternoon everyone
Mr Churchill visited school today. Needless to say, the children and staff were delighted to see him.
Mr Churchill will be starting back to school after the Christmas holidays. He will be in mornings for the first three days of term (Wednesday 4th/Thursday 5th/Friday 6th). He will then be back full time from Monday 9th January. Mr Churchill has asked me to pass on his thanks for your understanding and support during his absence. He is excited to return to school and get back to what he loves doing the most – teaching your wonderful children.
Kind regards
Mr Appleby
